the Promise of the Holy Ghost

Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.  THE ACTS 2:33

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.  THE ACTS 2:38,39

The promise of the Holy Ghost bears witness of the coming blessing of Abraham upon all gentile nations that obey the everlasting gospel following the return of the Lord Jesus Christ here to earth.  God made covenant with Abraham, and he gave him a particular piece of land for an inheritance, that is, once Abraham is raised from the dead he will receive his inheritance from the Holy One.  Years following, God made covenant with David, and within the covenant God gave a deep hope of Israel's God-given glory to fill the nations through the tabernacle David raised up; hence, the hope of the covenant God made with David confirms the covenant God made with Abraham.

The promise of the Holy Ghost confirms a gentile hope of salvation through the Davidic covenant.  Abraham's blessing will come upon obedient gentile nations in the age to come as witnessed by the promise of the Father today.  There is a call for the gentile faithful of Jesus to continue on in covenant faithfulness to him in light of things that will manifest in the years leading into his appearing in the heavens as to rule and reign here on earth.
