the earnest of the Spirit and

the hope of the resurrection

And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.  THE ACTS 13:34

The earnest of the Spirit testifies to the hope of attaining to the first resurrection of the dead; the sure mercies of David beckons both Jews and Gentiles to the hope of the resurrection.  Glory and praise given to the most high God among gentile nations is a witness of both the sure mercies of David to manifest in the first resurrection among the nations AND of the coming first resurrection of the dead.  The earnest of the Spirit is the hope of glory among gentiles in the formation of Christ among gentile saints.
