The Baptism of the Holy Ghost

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you :

THE ACTS OF THE APOSTLES 1:8a,b

that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.  ROMANS 15:13b,c

The baptism of the Holy Ghost is both to the Jew and to the Gentile.  It confirms callings and gifts in the body of Christ to minister the gospel of Christ according to the covenant hope of the gospel.  There is coming a first resurrection of the dead which is akin to, knitt with the appearing of Jesus Christ as to rule and reign here on earth as King of the nations, the King of the Jews, from his city, Jerusalem.

The witness of the Holy Ghost grants power to the body of Christ to steward and set a 'right hope' in the covenant hope of the gospel - the law of the LORD shall go forth from Zion into the gentile nations of the earth in the age to come.

The Holy Ghost baptizes earthen vessels as to 'endue them with power' for:

     - the preaching of the word

-- stewardship of a right covenant hope of the gospel

--- and, to overcome sin and temptation in this world.
