The Baptism of Fire
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God: EXODUS 34:14
For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God. DEUTERONOMY 4:24
For he is our God; and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand. To day if ye will hear his voice,
Harden not your heart, as in the provocation, and as in the day of temptation in the wilderness: PSALM 95:7,8
And it shall come to pass, that he that is left in Zion, and he that remaineth in Jerusalem, shall be called holy, even every one that is written among the living in Jerusalem:
When the Lord shall have washed away the filth of the daughters of Zion, and shall have purged the blood of Jerusalem from the midst thereof by the spirit of judgment and by the spirit of burning. ISAIAH 4:3-4
But his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, JEREMIAH 20:9d
he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire: ST LUKE 3:16f
And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. THE ACTS 2:3
Ye cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils: ye cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of devils. Do we provoke the Lord to jealously? are we stronger than he? 1 CORINTHIANS 10:21-22
For I am jealous over you with godly jealously: 2 CORINTHIANS 11:2a
Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain : and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months. And he prayed again, and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit. JAMES 5:17-18
And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers of all saints upon the golden altar with was before the throne.
And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints, ascended up before God out of the angel's hand.
And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake. REVELATION 8:3,4,5
God delights in justice; justice is apart of his divine covenant nature. Idolatry - all forms thereof - grieves his heart and idolatrous behaviour provokes him to jealously. The baptism of fire purges earthen vessels from life issues marked by idolatry.
Jesus Christ ministers the baptism of fire from the heights of the heavens to his people, Israel, first, then to the 'graffed in' gentile faithful who drink from Christ. The fire of God cleans his house to be holy and pure in light of the trials and tribulations coming upon the face of the earth.
Prayers of justice shall ascend more and more into the holy, heavenly temple as the Day of the Lord draws near. The coming baptism of fire towards the end of this age will continue to strengthen prayer for the return of the King.
Apostolic ministry at the end of this age will equip the saints to steward prayer assemblies and solemn assemblies as to give birth to bold preaching and as to give an increase of prophecy within the church of the LORD. The wrath of God will come upon the earth in accordance with the prayers of the saints.
Sanctification of the saints as to steward the oracles of Jehovah in righteousness is in direct accord with Jesus' ministry of the seven spirits of God - before the throne of God - in the glory of God.
