Strengthen the Disciples
But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia, ...
And it came to pass in Iconium, ....
and fled unto Lystra and Derbe, cities of Lycaonia, and unto the region that lieth round about :
And there they preached the gospel. ....
and the next day he departed with Barnabas to Derbe.
And when they had preached the gospel to that city, and had taught many, they returned again to Lystra, and to Iconium, and Antioch,
Confirming the souls of the disciples, and exhorting them to continue in the faith, and that we must through much tribulation enter into the kingdom of God. THE ACTS 13:14ab, 14:1a,6bcd,7,20f,21,22
The returning of Paul and Barnabas to particular cities as to strengthen the disciples who heard the word and believed was apart of the ministry they received of from the Lord of hosts.
Strengthening disciples in accordance with sound, right, doctrine is a call for the saints of the most high God to persevere unto the end of this age. Confirmation of souls partakes of conversion and discipleship. Exhortation brings to light the falling away towards the appearing of Jesus Christ. Entering into the kingdom of God is not without trials and tribulations in this present world; suffering for Christ gives a 'right witness' of the cross of Christ Jesus. The cross of Christ beckons the house of Israel into covenant faithfulness as to manifest God's glory here on earth in the first resurrection of the dead.
When disciples are strengthened in the apostles' faith of Christ Jesus, then their hope of salvation increases as to attain to the first resurrection of the dead. Disciples of Christ are to long for his return as to give and manifest a 'right hope of salvation' here on earth in light of Christ Jesus' appearing.
