In the Wilderness

For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah :  I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.

I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face :  in their affliction they will seek me early.  HOSEA 5:14,15

Israel, in the wilderness, will seek the Lord's face towards the end of the last seven years of this age.  The hope of salvation for the house of Israel has been the purging of idolatry from their midst; God will remove their sins in his covenant faithfulness.  In God's covenant jealousies, he will be as 'a lion' to Ephraim and Judah during the 'last week', that is, the last seven years of this age as to purge his people of sin and witchcraft.

The Son has been faithful to his people from generation to generation as he is the Word.  The time of Zion's deliverance approaches according to the covenants of promise God made with Israel in the days of old.  In light of the Day of the Lord, gentiles are called to repent of sin and idolatry, and profess faith in the everlasting gospel.
